According to two recent studies from Washington State University and Harvard Medical School, people who drink two glasses of wine can lose weight. Red Wine contains Ellagic acid, a chemical that slows down the growth of fat cells and prevents the formation of new ones. Red Wine can also boost up the metabolism of fatty acids in liver cells.
The researchers considered the 20,000 women over the course of 13 years; a group who consumed one to two glasses of Red Wine daily, and the other group of women who consumed nothing. They found that women who consumed wine were slim and lost weight than those women who didn’t, and it helped them to beat obesity by 70 per cent, thanks to the calorie busting chemical resveratrol. Red wine has also lowered the risks of heart diseases and strokes.
Researchers say that the grape-based tipple in Red Wine helps in converting the white fat into the less offensive beige fat, and helps drinkers stay slim. That’s not all, a couple of glasses of red wine before bed helps you cut down the cravings, curb your appetite and you’re less likely to raid the fridge for a late-night snack. It also promotes you to have healthy sleep.
Well, if you’re not allowed to have bottle of Merlot or Cabernet, there are alternatives and you can chose from major sources of resveratrol such as blueberries, strawberries and (obviously) grapes. So, grab yourself a bottle of wine and consume a glass or two before you hit the bed.
