Removing your makeup and cleansing your face is all you do before going to bed? But adding few more steps to your Night time skincare routine will make you wake up the next morning with fresher and supple skin. Read on the 10 night skin care tips on Nutrihealthline and follow them in order.
1. Remove Makeup
Start your night care routine by removing off the makeup. Invest in a good quality makeup remover or you can use Jojoba Oil or any other natural oils to do the job. Use oil- based eye make-up remover in case you are using heavy eye makeup. Sleeping with makeup on can make your skin look dull, clog pores and cause break-outs.
2. Cleanse Your Face
Your skin collects excess sebum, dead skin cells due to pollution, and cleansing your face at nights helps removing the dirt and grime. If you have oily skin, use a cleanser with salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Use lukewarm water to cleanse.
3. Exfoliate Your Skin
Exfoliate twice or thrice a week to slough off the dead skin cells on the surface. It gives you a fresh, supple skin. Scrub off the blackheads, whiteheads and focus on the pores. However, don’t over use or under use the exfoliant as it may fry up the skin.
4. Tone it up
Follow the exfoliation with a toner to restore the PH balance of your skin. Pat it or spray it on your face and neck. People with dry skin or normal skin should avoid the alcohol based toners as they dry out and irritate the skin.
When you cleanse and exfoliate, the essential oils get stripped off and Moisturiser will replenish them and nourish your skin. Along with your face and neck, moisturize your elbows, heels, knees, hands and feet. Use a moisturized water-based if you have oily skin, and use a cream-based one if you have dry skin.
6. Eye Cream
Your eyes require an additional attention as there are no oil glands around your eyes. Opt for an eye cream to protect from the prevent puffiness, dark circles and moisturize the fragile skin around your eyes. Pat the eye cream gently around your eyes and massage them without tugging or stretching out the skin.
7. Lip Care
Dry, cracked or slightly chapped lips can be irritating. Exfoliate your lips thrice a week to remove the dead skin. Use a lip balm or olive oil on lips for nourishing effect.
8. Brush your Hair
Avoid the terrible hair fall by brushing your hair out and adding a night-time leave in conditioner before you sleep. Don’t tie your hair with ponytail as this will increase the breakage of your hair. Leave it free.
9. Switch to silk pillow covers
Silk pillowcases don’t tug and pull your skin. Your hair will also be benefited from them without causing breakage. Switch to satin or silk pillow cases. Change your bed covers and pillow cases once a week.
10. Lie on Your Back.
Try to sleep on your back. Pushing your face into pillows are likely to cause wrinkles and creases sooner. To prevent this, cultivate a habit of sleep on your back.
