The summer holidays are finally on the agenda again and even though we are still considering whether we have the courage to sunbathe a little with a little offspring, I still wanted to get into a sunny mood and put together a small packing list. If you’re looking for a serious packing list, I’ve got some handy downloads for you here; but if you just fancy some virtual window shopping then I have just the thing for you…
Table of contents
If you’re light on luggage I’d suggest sticking mostly to the basics. You can’t go wrong with some solid basics in a simple color scheme, and you’ll be sure to make your travels look no doubt chic. That ARKET ribbed tank tops* and Ribbed racerback tank tops* are my favorites, along with the ARKET crew neck t-shirts*. Then I’ll find you ARKET Oversized linen shirts*To be an absolute holiday workhorse – ideal as a jacket on chilly evenings or as a beach throw over your swimwear – I 100% recommend tossing an oversized shirt in your suitcase. That Levis 501 original shorts* are a classic (I would always say go a little larger for a slightly roomy fit and a little more room in the crotch) or type something a little more comfortable and cooler ARKET linen shorts* or the ARKET linen pants with drawstring* before. Just pack up MANGO Black cotton dress*, and with a few swimwear, shoes, and accessories, you’re sorted.

THE FUN PARTS
Of course, the basics will last you a week or so, but sprinkling on a few party pieces might be in order and will help spice up your holiday look a bit. As a pant lover that I am, I adore these ARKET crinkle satin trousers* – these with a black racer and strappy flat sandals for a dinner date?! breathtaking. Fancy tops always come in handy when going out on vacation, but I’d always recommend looking for something that would look just as good with jeans at home as it would at a beach bar, paired with something a little more summery. I would point you in the direction of ARKET crochet top with halterneck*, Nanushka ruched satin bodice* (and yes, there’s a skirt to match!), and the Faithful the Brand Tie Detail Linen Top*. Continuing with the crochet theme, I love an open crochet dress. You might need briefs here in the UK, but throw on a pair of bathing suits abroad and you’re good to go. try this MANGO cotton blend knit dress*, or her Openwork knit dress*. Also, I will never say no to an LBD, and This one here* Talking to me right now.
SHOP THE FUN PIECES*
When it comes to practical holiday shoes, the wearing comfort simply cannot be surpassed Teva Original sandals*, or just a simple one Haviana flip flop* (and let’s not forget the Birkenstock EVA sandals* to). If you have a lot of walking to do on your vacation, pop one of these in your suitcase and you’re sorted. But if you’re looking for a pair for fun nights out or just something a little more quirky then I have a few ideas. MANGO is a great place to look for designer dupes like this one Leather braided sandals* which are very similar to some YSL those or these Leather jelly shoes* these are exactly like The Row Fisherman sandalsand your Sandals with platform straps* these are a good cheat for that Ginza sandals. I always pack mine LOQ Dora leather sandals* (I have a pair from an old season that are very similar), and these & Other Stories Leather sandals with straps and heels* are like a couple By far the ones i have are great for going out. Finally two pairs that are truly elegant and chic, suitable for both night and day An Emery Tan Colby leather sandals*, and the Porte & Paire mules in beige raffia* only singing to be put in your pocket
I just did a pretty extensive roundup of my favorite straw style tote bags my last postso read that or scroll through my edit below to see my personal shopping highlights in this category (I think the MANGO jute basket bag*would be my first choice because it’s so massive). I would recommend a large raffia bag for carry-on on the plane and then sort you out for a beach bag while you’re away or if you’re really short on space just pick a bag (mirrorwater are launching one soon that I’ve previewed and it’s FAB). But sometimes you want something a little more refined in the evening, right? Again, I’m looking for something that fits nicely into a suitcase, so here are my picks. Of course the Loewe Small Woven Raffia Tote* is a classic, and MANGO has a great dupe* Therefore. Then I love little rope bags – they’re super handy too as most can be tossed in the wash when needed. I like the look of the ARKET Knitted mini bag*, and the Alienina shoulder bag with knot detail* and Julia bag in white*. And then I think that Loeffler Randall Willa Bast Clutch* is such a good all-rounder; from the deck to the dance floor.
I tend to keep it simple with swimwear. I like the idea of classic cuts in neutral tones that I can wear year after year and styles that double as vests or extra layers when needed. I love the Slywia swimsuits – I just find the cut so flattering. They show a bit of cheek but not too much and have a low back with spaghetti straps that make them perfect with a pair of jean shorts (hers). bikinis are great too and are actually what I wore to give birth!). That’s why I love too Hunza G*. A one-size-fits-all approach is classically flawed, but I’ve seen so many different friends and co-workers online wearing them and looking absolutely gorgeous. I like their classic Black seersucker swimsuit*, the Chocolate colored one shoulder swimsuit* and your Sage green domino swimsuit* – this shade will suit just about anyone. Dupes are everywhere, but this one MANGO Structured swimsuit with crossed straps* looks like a good fit. If you need a little more support, give it ARKET Structured underwired bikini top*, and Structured bikini bottoms* a go, or I like the sporty look of it Bikini top with MANGO seams*.
